Known for its warm welcome, freshly prepared food, and classic pub atmosphere, The Woolpack has long been a place where both locals and visitors can enjoy quality dining and hospitality.
As part of England’s historic pub tradition, we take pride in offering hearty meals, fine ales, and excellent service that reflect the best of British hospitality. We are currently facing a staff shortage, so we are urgently seeking a dedicated and skilled Catering Manager to join our team and help us continue delivering the high standards our guests expect.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Catering Manager to oversee all food and beverage operations within The Woolpack Pub. You will manage daily lunch and supper service, as well as hospitality and event catering, while ensuring quality, safety, and excellent customer service. This role is vital to the smooth running and commercial success of the pub.
Key Responsibilities
As our Catering Manager, you will:
- Oversee daily catering services, including lunch, supper, and events.
- Lead, train, and supervise stewards and pub assistants to deliver excellent hospitality.
- Ensure company food standards, hygiene, allergen control, and Health & Safety policies are met.
- Monitor food and beverage costs, control wastage, and reconcile accounts.
- Complete company bookwork, stock control, and cash management accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of catering, kitchen, and bar areas.
- Support profitability and growth targets in line with company objectives.
- Drive customer service standards, ensuring guests receive the best experience.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the hospitality trade (pubs, restaurants, hotels, or catering).
- Strong organisational and leadership skills with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of food hygiene, allergen management, and Health & Safety compliance.
- Proven ability to manage costs and support profitability.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Kitchen manager – salary £32000
Assists the chef in the all food service operations and day-to-day operations of the kitchen.
- Provides direction to kitchen staff, ensuring execution of all employee duties.
- Monitors kitchen operations to ensure compliance with health and fire department regulations.
- Ensures compliance with state, federal, and local food handling requirements and standards.
- Assists in the implementation and management of kitchen and restaurant policies and procedures throughout scheduled shift.
- Completes the duties of a line cook when needed, and is capable of performing the duties of all kitchen positions.
- Ensures products are stored at the correct temperatures and the recipe books are up to date with current menu items, portions, and ingredients.
- Ensures utilization of daily prep sheets and meat/fish yield sheets daily and that product counts are recorded accurately daily. Participates in monthly inventory process.
- Anticipates, identifies, and corrects any issues with inventory, systems, and staffing.
- Monitors labor costs to attain budgeted goals within restaurant policies and procedures.
- Oversees and approves training and development of kitchen staff.
- Participates in the hiring process by conducting interviews and making hiring recommendations.
- Assists in completion of all back-of-house employee 30-day and annual reviews.
